Club Meeting 32: Fire Weather
Fire Weather by John Vaillant is a gripping account of the devastating 2016 wildfire that swept through Fort McMurray, Alberta, while also exploring humanity’s long relationship with fire, the oil industry, and climate change. Vaillant combines firsthand stories of firefighters and residents with science and history to show how a combination of extreme weather, a warming climate, and a landscape saturated with petroleum products created a new kind of wildfire—one that challenged everything people thought they knew about fire
